: Mondays, April 28 – May 19 | 8:45–10:15 am
Location: Westminster Presbyterian Church
Earlier this year, a small group at Westminster came together for something new—a class led by the Rev. Brook Scott to read Sober Spirituality by Episcopal priest Erin Jean Warde. What unfolded was honest, heartfelt, and deeply meaningful. In a supportive space, we reflected on how our faith and our choices—especially around alcohol—intersect.
Whether people were sober, sober curious, or simply curious, everyone in the group came away with insight and encouragement. As one participant shared, “At first, I wasn’t sure if this belonged in church. But it turns out, this was exactly the kind of conversation I needed to have—with people I trust, in a place where I feel comfortable.”
We’re excited to bring the class back this spring—starting April 28—for another round of honest, grace-filled reflection. This time, we’ll be reading This Naked Mind by Annie Grace. With clarity and compassion, Grace explores how alcohol fits into our lives—and what’s possible when we step back and take a closer look. She writes, “When we remove alcohol, we don’t lose anything—we gain everything”—including, many would say, a clearer connection to the Spirit.
If you’ve ever wondered about your own relationship with alcohol—or are simply seeking a more intentional way of living—this class is for you. Everyone is welcome, no matter where you’re starting from.
To Prepare:
Please purchase This Naked Mind and read Chapters 1 and 2 before our first session on April 28.
