Rob McClellan
Sr Pastor | Head of Staff
Office: 415-383-5272
Rob McClellan has been Westminster’s Senior Pastor and Head of Staff since 2013. He views pastoral ministry as a chance to help people uncover or recover a faith that is relevant and alive. He aims to offer a refreshing expression of Christ to those who have had negative or unfulfilling experiences with religion. He believes faith is a whole-self endeavor, engaging the mind, body, and spirit. Rob has a passion for Celtic Christianity, and like so many, Rob finds God in nature too!
Before joining Westminster, Rob served as a solo pastor in a smaller urban congregation and as an associate pastor in a large suburban congregation in the Philadelphia area. Rob has worked with youth and young adults in a variety of settings—secular, Christian, and interfaith.
Rob's educational journey includes a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa, an M.A. in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis, an M.A. in Rhetoric from the University of Wisconsin, and an MDiv. from Columbia Theological Seminary (Decatur, GA), and a DMin. from San Francisco Theological Seminary, where his dissertation explored pilgrimage as a spiritual practice and portal to religious experience.
Born and raised in the Midwest, Rob's spiritual foundation was established in the Presbyterian church and fostered by transformative experiences at a large YMCA camp. He is happily married to Sherri Hausser, also an ordained Presbyterian minister, and they have a son named Liam, born in 2012. In his spare time, Rob enjoys the outdoors, music (both listening and playing), reading, writing, and cherishing moments with his family.
